Come Out Swinging
Baltimore Elder Emos
Come Out Swinging is a rock band based out of Baltimore, Maryland. The band crosses the genres of rock, emo, post-hardcore, and metalcore all in one chaotic package. The band has been lucky enough to grace the stages around Baltimore and Maryland, including: The Recher, Power Plant Live, Angel's Rock Bar, and Zen West.
Come Out Swinging was founded in 2021 by Steve Kushner (Drums), Ben Shanholtz (Guitar), and Mike Sokolow (Bass) after several years playing together in a cover band. "Over B-Dubs and Beer" the trio made the decision they wanted to go a different direction as an original music band. That same night, the boys recruited old friend and former bandmate Alex Fisher as the main vocalist. After playing several shows that year, Paul Zimand was added on guitar and the band was complete.
The band released the EP "A New Era" in 2022 and has played locally throughout the Baltimore music scene ever since. Subsequently, the band has released 2 singles: "This Song is About Nothing" and "The Sixth Sage".
In the winter of 2024/2025, there was a mutual decision within the band to part ways with Alex Fisher. They all remain good friends and "Fish" can be seen supporting the boys at shows. At this time, the boys recruited Ash "Duffi" Saville to replace Fish on main vocals.
With their new main vocalist, the band is currently writing a full length album with a planned 2025 release date.
